Our House and Garden

We bought a detached house in Kirkkonummi municipality 1991. The Village of Kirkkonummi is situated some 30 kilometers to the west from the City of Helsinki. The area is graved land and a tiny natural stream is flowing through our ground making humid microclimate areas.

We have two native orchids growing in our land, which we didn't know when we bought the house. Few years later we started to blaze the old forest part of our land and found quite a big deposit of the Lesser Butterfly orchid, Platanthera bifolia, as well as some Heath Spotted Orchids, Dactylorhiza maculata.

We continued clearing the forest very carefully and now after 18 years job we are ready to plant first hardy orchids.
