Jouni Seppänen has received a golden medal for talent in craft , art and design on 15th of February, 2008.

Craft, art and design professional union Taito ry hands out craft , art and design acknowledgement and talent medals for the exceptional and valuable work done in this field in Finland. Honorary medals are handed out by the Board of this National Union.

The talent medals for craft, art and design have been handed out since 1950. The medal has been designed by architect Yrjö Laine-Juva. There are medals for silver and gold given for the talented craftsmen. The medals can be given to artists and entrepreneurs, whose works are known to be high quality and exceptional. The golden medal is given to a person who is known and recognized in mastery in his-her field nationally and internationally.
By the initiation of Taito Itä-Suomi ry (Talent East Finland) the golden medal for craft, art and design was given to fashion designer Jukka Rintala, visualist Matti Vaskelainen, and florist-horticulturist Jouni Seppänen in the 100-anniversary gala of Taito Itä-Suomi ry in Mikkeli 15th of February 2008.
